DSM & Humboldt ClearComp 1078 – inspired by studio comp/limiters, but at your feet. The ClearComp is a highly transparent compressor with a unique dynamic threshold topology, engineered and developed by DSM and Humboldt. Unlike most compressors, which dynamically reduce the gain as the level rises above the threshold, the ClearComp’s DT Topology dynamically modifies the threshold with a fixed gain reduction. In contrast, the DT topology dynamically modifies the threshold with a fixed gain reduction. This achieves a natural and transparent compression effect with a lower noise floor, less coloring, and a higher dynamic range. A multicolor, five-stage LED bar graph visualizes the resulting envelope level in real time.
